Layout:
We have designed
our TEC 320 Littman/Metcalf Laser according to our patented design,
US-Patent no. 5,867,512, further patents pending. The laser system consists
of a diode laser, collimating optics, a diffraction grating and a tuning prism.
The laser light is collimated and coupled to the diffraction grating. The
first order diffraction beam is coupled to a reflection prism which makes our
cavity design self-aligning. The reflecting prism feeds the laser beam back to
the diffraction grating where it is finally directed back into the laser chip.
The rear facet beam of the laser chip is coupled out of the laser system. The
major advantages of this laser design are the large mode-hop free tuning range
due to the double passing of the diffraction grating and the absolute beam
direction stability, and the high output power.
Benefit of AR-Coated diode lasers,
System Performance:
Our anti-reflection coated diode lasers give the
laser system the performance of a turnkey system. There is no longer
the need for a long term search of the current and temperature values of
the operating point.
High Output Power:
Our
external cavity Littman/Metcalf laser system is especially designed for
achieving the highest possible output power. We achieve power values of more
than 500mW at 760nm, 780nm, 785nm, 830nm, 980nm, 1060nm, more than 1000mW at
780nm and 1060nm
Wavelength Stability:
Our
external cavity Littman/Metcalf laser system includes an excellent thermal
management of the heat dissipation of the 1W laser chips. This results in a
superior wavelength stability of the free running laser
system.
Intelligent Laser
Controller:
The intelligent, low noise PilotPZ laser controller
changes the laser system from just an high power external cavity diode
laser system to an automated measuring tool for scientific and OEM customers.
All functions can be operated via GPIB, USB, or RS232.
Application Example - Absorption
Spectroscopy:
Absorption Spectroscopy requires a low linewidth and
mode-hop free tuning behavior. Both features are fulfilled by our TEC
320 Tiger laser system in an excellent way. We verified these features with
a Rubidium Absorption experiment.
