May
24, 2006, PhAST/Laser Focus World Innovation Award
Program
The PhAST/Laser Focus World
Innovation Award Program granted Sacher Lasertechnik an 'Honorable Mention' at
the 2006 PhAST/CLEO conference in Long Beach, CA. This award is already the
second award for Sacher Lasertechnik after a first 'New Product Award' granted
at CLEO 2000. These awards are a result of an excellent reseach and
development strategy which results in superior, patented product families
and more than 5000 satisfied customers.
Feb. 01, 2004,
Strategic Partnership with Triad Technologies, Inc.
Sacher Lasertechnik GmbH
Marburg, Germany and Triad Technology, Inc. Longmont, CO agreed in forming a
strategic partnership with the goal to develop ultra stable laser light sources
based on stabilized external cavity diode lasers.
Sacher
Lasertechnik Group is a leading manufacturer of tunable high power external
cavity diode lasers with several patents on external cavity diode lasers as well
as on performing antireflection coatings for diode lasers.
Triad
Technology, Inc. is founded by former board members of EOSI, which was acquired
by Newport in 1999. Triad Technology, Inc. contributes the technology of
manufacturing high quality reference gas cells as well as electronic
stabilization techniques to the partnership.
The goal of this
strategic partnership is to gain the technology and market leadership in the
field of ultra stable high power laser systems. Applications will include
frequency standards, optical cooling and trapping as well as spectroscopy in
general.
Sept. 15,
2003, Licence Agreement with Univ. Potsdam, Germany Sacher
Lasertechnik GmbH and the University of Potsdam, Germany, represented by ZAB
GmbH Brainshell, signed an exclusive license agreement of patent application WO
03/055018. Sacher Lasertechnik GmbH and the Potsdam based Institute of Physics
herewith deepen their proven technological partnership.
The patent
application describes and protects an external cavity assembly which results in
diffraction limited laser emission of broad area diode lasers.
Broad area diode lasers are high power devices with an output power in the range
of 1W .. 10W. Up to now their major disadvantage has been the filamentation of
the laser beam profile resulting in a poor laser beam quality.
Sacher
Lasertechnik Group will incorporate this intellectual property into their diode
laser based Raman product series. This knowledge will enable Sacher Lasertechnik
Group to expand and strengthen their leading position in the field of high power
tunable diode lasers. Market launch of this Raman laser product line is expected
for early 2005.
Potsdam
University’s Institute of Physics is a long-standing development partner of
Sacher Lasertechnik GmbH. Brainshell is a department of ZukunftsAgentur
Brandenburg GmbH and responsible for commercialisation of the intellectual
property of universities in the Brandenburg region.
Mai 2000, CLEO 2000, New Product Award
A panel of industy experts granted Sacher
Lasertechnik the CLEO 2000 New Product Award for the new Lynx tunable
external cavity diode laser system with the model number TEC-100.
