Introduction: Commertial
available diode lasers are optimized for printing, telecommunication or other
applications. Major drawbacks are known when operating them within an external
cavity diode laser. For overcoming these problems, Sacher Lasertechnik has
decided to set up a complete technology line for manufacturing diode lasers
for external cavity applications.
Production Equipment for Diode Laser
Antireflection Coatings: Sacher Lasertechnink offers
antireflection coatings for diode lasers since more than 10 years. For the anti
reflection facet coating, we operate two plasma assisted coaters which are
specially designed for diode lasers. The coatings are performed according to our
patents.
Production Equipment for Diode Laser Chip
Assembly: Diode lasers which are specially designed for
external cavity operation are ordered from technology leaders. For the
assembly, we operate a physical vapor deposition coater for the deposition of
AgZn or In solder to the laser mounts.
 
Die-bonders are operated for the exact positioning of laser chips at the
laser mounts. A wire bonder provides the
electrical contactation of the laser chips.
Characterization Equipment for Diode
Lasers: A complete measurement equipment is available for
the qualification of the mounted diode lasers. Available instruments are beside
Current Sources and Power Meters for laser operation, Optical Spectrum Analyzer
for spectral characterization, Mode Master for beam qualification
and Heatings stations for lifetime testing. |
