Optical detection of Acetone via Absorption Spectroscopy is very difficult due to weak absorption of the Acetone molecules. Furthermore, it is very difficult to distinguish between different types of Acetone via Absorption Spectroscopy. A more suitable detation method is Raman Spectroscopy.
