Helium D0, D1, D2 1083nm Metastable Transition

There are several optical transitions of 4He at 1083nm. The electronic levels for D0, D1, and D2 lines are shown in the excerpt of the level scheme. Since the resulting spin is zero, there is only one lamb dip for each transition.

The graph shows the Helium 4He absorption according to D0, D1, and D2 transition determined in the 1083nm regime. The metastable state got depopulated via a magnetic 45MHz rf field. The test data got determined via our doppler-free rf modulation spectroscopy setup, together with our TEC-500 Littman/Metcalf type of laser system.
